MORE LAWN BOWLS - Bendigo regains its spark; Beasties through to grand final
EAGLEHAWK has created an opportunity to end a BBD midweek pennant premiership drought of more than 50 years.
The Hawks won their way through to the grand final with a 69-63 victory over Kangaroo Flat in Monday's preliminary final at South Bendigo.
Eaglehawk's grand final opponent on March 15 will be four-time defending premier Bendigo East.
The Hawks have won just three BBD midweek division one flags - the last of which was in 1967, while they haven't played in a grand final since 1993.
Eaglehawk had two rinks up in its victory over Kangaroo Flat, with Kaye Rowe (+10) and Jan Conder (+5) both winning skippers.
The only winning rink for Kangaroo Flat was skippered by Susan Howes (+9).
The loss denied the chance of the Flat playing in a second-consecutive grand final.
