The two car crash took place near Kyneton on the Kyneton-Metcalfe Road at about 7.50am, involving a Holden Commodore wagon and a Land Cruiser 4WD.
Police say the crash was caused by a Holden Commodore which crossed over double lines, because of driver inattention.
The driver of a Land Cruiser 4WD was transported to Bendigo Hospital in a stable condition.
An infringement notice has been issued to the driver of the Holden Commodore.
There were no passengers in either car.
The State Emergency Service was also called to the scene.
