AN award recognising central Victorian women and their contributions to communities is calling for nominations.
The Zonta Club of Bendigo's Women of Achievement Award seeks to highlight visionary leadership, community work and volunteering and mentoring in the region.
The club's purpose is to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
Two recipients shared last year's Women of Achievement Award award – Cathie Steele and Seisei Mu Thein.
The inaugural award, in 2016, went to three women - swim coach Val Campbell, artist Gayle Maddigan and nursing teacher Karen Riley.
This year's winners will be announced at the club's International Women's Day Dinner, on March 5.
International Women's Day is March 8. The theme of this year's event is 'Balance for better', a call to action on gender equality.
Nominations for the fourth annual Women of Achievement Award close on Friday. Forms are available online at zontabendigo.org
