Owner of the Hopley Recycling site, Kenneth Hopley, said the fire got into the company’s operation, but everything had resolved.
EARLIER: Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of a grass fire that broke out at an East Bendigo demolition material site on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the Hopley Recycling yard in Murphy Street at 3.07pm.
CFA district two operations officer Chris Jacobsen said the fire was quickly contained after arrival.
Mr Jacobsen said the cause was believed known, but investigations continued.
Meanwhile, firefighters were also called on Monday afternoon to a grass fire at Harcourt.
Trains on the Bendigo line were halted while crews worked to put out the blaze.
The state remains in the fire danger period until May 1.
