Crute, who now has a 10-0 professional record and a 2-0 UFC record, didn’t take long to stamp his authority on the bout.
A brutal right hand from Crute sent Alvey to the floor inside two-and-a-half minutes.
The gutsy American wobbled his way back to his feet, but the damage had been done and Crute inflicted more pain before the referee stopped the bout with seven seconds remaining in the first round.
Crute said the key to his victory was his mental preparation.
“This whole preparation we focused on the techniques, but more so mindset,’’ Crute said.
“I have to be happy. My last fight in Adelaide I was such a nervous wreck walking out, I was so stiff.
“Everyone has been telling for me years that when I relax no-one can touch me.
“That’s what I did tonight, I felt two steps ahead. I think I scared him with the power and speed of my kicks.”
Crute, who won his UFC debut bout in Adelaide last year by a third-round submission, believes he’s ready to go to the next level in the sport.
“I don’t really care who I fight, they can bring them all and I’ll fight them all one after the other,’’ he said.
“I’m not saying I can beat everyone, but I’ll fight everyone. I’ve got no problem.”
Crute has trained for more than a decade at Stewie Moulden's House of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Bendigo.
The 23-year-old made it to the big time by winning Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series last year.
