WAYNE Mitrovic will lead the Loddon Valley into battle as coach in its inter-league game against Horsham District in May.
Mitrovic has been announced as the Loddon Valley’s senior inter-league coach for 2019, taking over the role from Calivil United’s Anthony Dennis, who is playing with Tongala in 2019.
Loddon Valley will play an away game against Horsham District on Saturday, May 18, as part of the annual AFL Victoria Community Championships.
“With Anthony leaving the competition to play at Tongala we’ve been on the lookout for a new inter-league coach and are thrilled that Wayne has accepted the position,” LVFNL board member David Collins said on Wednesday.

As well as coaching the inter-league side, Mitrovic will also be at the helm of Maiden Gully YCW for a second season.
Mitrovic last year led the Eagles into the preliminary final in what was the club’s return to the finals for the first time since 2011.
“Wayne did a fantastic job with his coaching last year and is held in such high regard throughout central Victoria… he had a great career at Sandhurst, did a lot for his home club Macorna and obviously took YCW to third position in his first year at the club,” Collins said.
“He certainly has a lot of respect.”
Loddon Valley last year returned to inter-league following a two-year hiatus with a victory over Golden Rivers at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
Loddon Valley won 14.13 (97) to 7.11 (53) in a game where the best players were headed by Andrew Gladman (three goals), Nick Waterson and Matt Magee.
The LVFNL will play six home and rounds before the inter-league general bye.
The 2019 LVFNL season begins on Saturday, April 6.
