TIGHT RACE IN DISTANCE SERIES POINTS BATTLE
IT’S tight at the top in the Flack Advisory Distance Series points aggregate with three races remaining.
The series continues on Thursday night over 1000m at the Tom Flood Sports Centre in conjunction with the Bendigo District Cycling Club.
Peter Cowell leads the series with 60 points, but has Luke Matthews (59), Aaron Norton (56) and Mandy Worthington (56) all hot on his heels.
Cowell took over the leadership last week with a second-placing behind Michael Preece, who was too strong in the windy conditions over 1200m in his first run of the series.
If Preece backs up on Thursday night he’s going to be tough to beat again.
However, front-marker Worthington should relish the shorter distance as she has led into the final straight on several occasions in the series.
