The dragon and his accompanying lions are expected to go on display at the Golden Dragon Museum in Bendigo later next month.
A delegation including representatives of the museum, the Bendigo Chinese Association and City of Greater Bendigo mayor Margaret O’Rourke traveled to Hong Kong for the blessing.
The newly completed dragon was made possible by a campaign to raise funds to repair and replace an ageing Sun Loong, who first took the Easter festival spotlight in 1970.
The campaign attracted donations from far and wide, even capturing the attention of Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson.
Dai Gum Loong will take part in his first Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade at this year’s Bendigo Easter Festival.
