Bendigo sergeant Rosie Rowe said police had been in Kingston Drive on other business when they randomly pulled over the 34-year-old woman just after 4.30am. She blew .074 and received a penalty notice.
It came on the fourth and final day of a major Victoria Police operation targeting road offences.
“I think a lot of people expect over the long weekend there will be larger scale operations. Every police unit is potentially a booze bus,” Sergeant Rowe said.
Last year, two drink drivers were caught in the Bendigo area on day four of Operation Amity. Two were caught on day three and one was caught on day two.
