Between them the pair have committed countless hours to community activities and organisations in the borough.
Mr Bourke has been teaching in the area for decades and also volunteers for community and church groups.
“I am excited and honoured to be acknowledged,” Mr Bourke said. “We’re lucky to live where we live, and we love where we live. There are so many opportunities to connect with the community.”
Ms Croft, 20, is the vice president of Empowering Eaglehawk and a dedicated dance teacher to people of all abilities.
“This honour is beyond what I could’ve imagined,” Ms Croft said. “I have always been encouraged to try anything and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference and empower others.”
This year’s theme for Eaglehawk’s Australia Day celebration is “live, learn, lead”.
Celebrations will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Eaglehawk in Canterbury Gardens with Olympic marathon runner Steve Moneghetti joining the event as an Australia Day Ambassador.
“It’s going to be a wonderful day in Eaglehawk,” Eaglehawk Rotary president Alison Bacon said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Steve Moneghetti and recognise two remarkable and inspiring Eaglehawk citizens.”
Eaglehawk’s celebrations start with a free barbecue breakfast from 8.30am ahead of the ceremonies at 9.15am.
Entertainment will be provided by emerging local artists Julia Wellard and Macklin Wellard and the award-winning Eaglehawk Citizens Brass Band.
