
Police want to speak to anyone with information about two stolen vehicles in the Newstead area after one was found burnt out near the town’s racecourse Sunday morning.
Police located two vehicles they believed connected, including the burnt-out silver Audi, Castlemaine’s Acting Sergeant David Semmens said.
Two CFA tankers from Newstead were called to the blaze this morning just before 8am.

A white Hyundai station wagon was also found southwest of the town, though that car had not been torched.
Acting Sergeant Semmens called for anyone with information or who was in the vicinity of the racecourse this morning to come forward.
