TWO broadcasters have been selected as the Central Goldfields Shire’s 2019 Australia Day Ambassadors.
David Mann, of 3AW’s Mann About Town show, has been named as the ambassador for Carisbrook.
Doug Christie has been named as the ambassador for Dunolly.
“I’m sure the Dunolly and Carisbrook communities are looking forward to welcoming David and Doug to their communities and hearing their Australia Day messages,” Noel Harvey, the Central Goldfields Shire chief administrator said.
Mr Mann has held roles at 3AW for more than 40 years. He received an Order of Australia medal in 2006 for his service to community.
The Central Goldfields Shire described Mr Christie as an experienced broadcaster, event producer and marketer who had held senior marketing roles with publicly-listed companies.
Carisbrook’s celebrations start at 10.30am at Market Reserve.
Festivities in Dunolly start at 10am at the Rene Fox Gardens on Broadway.
