After losing to WA Country the previous day, Victoria Country needed to defeated its arch-rival to keep its one-day grand final hopes alive.
Sandhurst’s Ash Gray batted at number eight and made a quickfire 28 off 29 balls in Victoria Country’s total of 204. Former Maryborough footballer Cole Roscholler top scored with 53 off 51 balls.
NSW Country were bowled out for 168. Opening bowlers Ben Boyd (4-11) and Tony Cacciavello (5-35) took nine wickets between them.
Victoria Country has the bye on Wednesday before facing South Australia Country on Thursday.
A win in that match would earn Victoria Country a place in Friday’s one-day final at Mooroopna.
