Athletes from around the country will race at the back-to-back Castlemaine and Daylesford Gifts this weekend.
The first of the two will be the Castlemaine Gift which will take place on Saturday.
Event organiser Darryl Nettleton said it was one of Mount Alexander Shire’s biggest sporting events.
“It’s a great event for the town and attracts up to 300 competitors who take to the track to compete,” Nettleton said.
“The event wouldn’t be possible without the support from local traders.”
Daylesford will then host its Gift the following day, with many athletes set to compete at both.
Event organiser Adrian Tinetti said Maryborough winners Rupert Lugo and Tarryn Fisher will return to the track after their recent victories.
“They will be at the top of their game after competing at Maryborough,” Tinetti said.
“I’m sure they will be looking to back it up with another win on Sunday.”
