After nine years in the AFL system Stewart Crameri is returning to where it all started for him, Maryborough’s Princes Park.
Crameri looked back on his time in the AFL at Essendon, the Western Bulldogs and Geelong and also forward at trying to help Maryborough become a competitive team again in the BFNL.
“I wish I could have played more, but it was just my time. I never held back on anything I did and gave my best and being 30 now is considered fairly old in the system.”

Up until June of this year Alan Jackson had held the record for the most goals kicked in the North Central league – 811 for Wedderburn.
His record on the cusp of being broken by St Arnaud’s Daniel Needs gave an opportunity for Jackson to reflect back on his feats in the goal square that began in 1970 as a 16-year-old.
“Records are made to be broken… I’ve held a few for a long time and to do that I had to beat someone else’s”

Lee Schraner is Australia’s No.1 ranked men’s bowler and he’s playing pennant in the BBD with Bendigo East this season.
His signing created a massive buzz in the bowls fraternity during the off-season and after three games with his new club Schraner gave some insight into just what makes him tick.
“I don’t think bowls is a game where everything totally clicks. If you think it has clicked then the game has got the better of you.”

A decade on from Hawthorn’s underdog grand final win over Geelong, premiership players Rick Ladson and Clinton Young reminisced on that special day in September, 2008.
The story begins with Ladson lining up at goal in the final quarter with the chance to ice the game for the Hawks.
“Crawf wandered over to me, put his arm around me and said, ‘if you kick this goal, we win the grand final’.”

A superb feat of loyalty was rewarded last weekend when Mark Ryan reached 300 first XI games for Bendigo in the BDCA.
It has taken him more than a quarter-of-a-century to get to the mark and stuck it out with a club where finals appearances have been scarce.
“I could have easily gone to other teams and had more success, but it never interested me. I’d rather stay and play with the side I grew up playing with.”
