The free pocket-sized guide includes unique local shopping and dining experiences for both residents and visitors to the city and its surrounds.
Shopping and dining precincts including Bath Lane, Chancery Lane, View Street and Pall Mall are promoted as its the Heathcote region and other areas close to Bendigo.
But as well as popular restaurants and shops, the guide also offers advice on pet friendly cafes, foodie tours and ultimate selfie spots.
The Gallery Cafe, Percy and Percy, Quarry Hill Cafe and Larder, Spring Gully General Store and The Boardwalk Bendigo are listed as the best pet-friendly cafes.
For people looking to take a top-notch selfie, the guide recommends Chancery Lane, Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Poppet Head lookout in Rosalind Park, and Pall Mall.
Bendigo Tourism marketing manager Glenn Harvey said the guide has grown this year.
“There are more than 100 businesses included and 17 new businesses in this year’s guide,” he said.
“Tourism trends have seen growth in cafe culture and locally-made products.
“People tend to use the guide while they are here for major events or visiting attractions. It’s about exploring the city.”
City of Greater Bendigo manager tourism and major events Terry Karamaloudis said there is a lot on offer in the area.
“The city centre and the surrounding areas have so (many) great restaurants, cafes, bars, wineries, boutiques, homewares, gift ideas, unique local produce as well as hand made products designed by our many talented artisans,” he said.
“The guide is perfect if you’ve got friends and family visiting during the holiday season that are keen to explore and experience Bendigo.”
