The five-year-old gelding has been a frustrating horse for Fliedner and connections.
Despite having plenty of talent, the son of All American had won just one of his 24 starts prior to Sunday's success in the Signmob Benchmark 58 Handicap (1500m).
"We tried him out over a trip last start and it didn't work,'' Fliedner said.
"He always seems to get beaten two lengths.
"He was very relaxed today and he'd had a month between runs.
"He'd only had one gallop in a month, maybe that's the best way to train him."
Fellow Bendigo trainer Mick Sell also enjoyed success on his home track.
Gutsy galloper Raid The Cabinet made it back-to-back wins when he won the final event of the day.
After racing wide and winning at Yarra Valley last start, Raid The Cabinet produced a similar tough win at Bendigo.
The four-year-old son of Derby winner Rebel Raider relished the step up to 1600m and looks set to get out over 2000m and beyond this campaign.
