After being traded from the Milwaukee Bucks back to his original NBA club, Dellavedova was courtside for the Cavs’ win over Washington.
When Dellavedova was shown on the Cavs’ jumbo screen, Cleveland fans gave the Maryborough product a rousing reception.
"Cleveland, thanks for the love," Dellavedova, in a tweet accompanying a picture of his old Cavs jersey wrote in response to the largely positive online messages Cleveland fans showered on the Australian.
"Let's go!!! #18."
Dellavedova will wear number 18 for the Cavs and he could play as early as Tuesday (AEDT) against his old club Milwaukee.
"Obviously you don't expect to pick and move, but it's the NBA so it could always happen," he said.
"If it was going to be anywhere I'm definitely glad it's here where I'm comfortable with familiar faces and a lot of friends."
The Cavs (6-20) are 13th in the eastern conference rankings.
