After suffering a 86-68 defeat to Perth on Friday night, the Spirit were outclassed by the Capitals.
The home side stamped their class early and led by 13 points at quarter-time.
The Capitals secured the points by doubling the margin in the second quarter.
The Spirit have slipped out of the Women’s National Basketball League top four, but the most worrying sign for coach Simon Pritchard is the five-straight defeats have been by an average margin of 24 points.
The Spirit (6-8) are in sixth place – just behind fifth-placed Dandenong (5-6) and fourth-placed Adelaide (7-6).
The Spirit travel to Melbourne next Sunday to play the Danadenong Rangers, with the loser to find it tough to make the WNBL play-offs.
The Spirit’s next home game is against the Townsville Fire (5-7) on Friday, December 21.
