Kingower’s 12-run win over Wedderburn Band combined with Arnold’s impressive eight-wicket victory over second-placed Inglewood gave the reigning premier a handy buffer on top of the ladder after 10 rounds.
Arnold’s victory came on the back of a superb unbeaten 73 by Ryan Metelmann.
Chasing Inglewood’s total of 4-157 off 35 overs, Metelmann and Phil Scholes (45) set the tone for the visitors with an 89-run opening stand.
Metelmann and Brenden Younghusband (15 not out) added an unbroken 60-run partnership for the third wicket to guide Arnold home with three overs to spare.
Earlier in the day, Glen Peters made 50 not out for Inglewood.
Inlgewood remains second on percentage from Arnold.
Kingower had few troubles in defeating fourth-placed Wedderburn Band by seven wickets.
Bowlers Lachlan DeJong (4-12), Matt Rowe (3-14) and Jayden Leach (3-23) did the damge for Kingower.
Ben Rose (43 not out) and Nick Leach (38) batted well to see Kingower home with five overs to spare.
A century from Jayden Burke wasn’t enough to get Bridgewater over the line against Boort-Yando.
Boort-Yando made 6-152 off 35 overs, with Josh Smith (32), Jono Lanyon (29) and Blake Slatter (29) amongs the runs.
Burke blasted a brilliant 108, but he was the only Bridgewater batsman to make more than 10 and the visitors were bowled out for 143 in the final over.
In the final game of the round, Newbridge defeated Serpentine on forfeit.
The Northern United Cricket Association match of the round was a fizzer.
Top team Elmore handed second-placed Dingee a cricket lesson.
Opening batsman Chris Smith smashed 107, while Matt Gilmour (74), Jake Wright (51 not out) and James Harney (37 not out) joined the party as Elmore posted 2-280 off 40 overs.
Dingee’s reply lasted just 21 overs. The visitors were bowled out for 67, with Kyle Patten making 25.
Conor Beckmans was the leading wicket-taker for Elmore with 3-8.
Bagshot consolidated fourth spot on the ladder by defeating bottom side Calivil.
Jamie Sexton took 3-18 for Bagshot as Calivil was dismissed for 112.
David Dennis (36), Garner Smith (30) and Blake Pickles (25 not out) combined for 91 of Calivil’s 112 runs.
Bagshot cruised pass the total in 24 overs for the loss of just four wickets.
Adam Clohesy led the way with an unbeaten 29.
Luke Bell was the star of the show as Heathcote trounced Colbinabbin.
Bell made 53 in Heathcote’s score of 125 and then took 4-7 with the ball as Colbo was dimissed for a paltry 36 in 77 balls.
Bell’s new-ball partner Brayden Klemke took 3-16.
Raywood remains in third place after it defeated Goornong on forfeit.
