VETERAN batsman Ben Rose surpassed 10,000 career senior runs for Kingower in Saturday’s Upper Loddon victory over Bridgewater.
Rose, who first played with Kingower when he was eight, moved to 10,036 career runs with his innings of 39 in the reigning premier’s 6-181 batting first against the Bulls.
Rose and captain Braydon Welsh (48) laid a solid platform for Kingower with an 85-run opening partnership.
Tom McKinley (4-37) took four wickets and again top scored with 59 for Bridgewater, which was contained to 5-112 off its 35 overs.
• Newbridge won its second game thanks to a dominant batting performance.
Chasing Boort-Yando’s 8-149 Newbridge cruised past its target for the loss of two wickets before closing at an impressive 3-217.
Skipper Taz Fitzallen (83 n.o.) and opener Ashley Bayliss (60) both scored half-centuries for Newbridge.
• Inglewood bounced back from its first loss of the season to defeat Wedderburn by eight runs in a battle of two top-four teams.
After being sent in Wedderburn was all out for 134 having one stage been 1-100, with the bulk of the side’s runs scored by in-form opener Bradley Holt (71).
Darcy Coppin (4-20) led the fightback with the ball for Inglewood, which responded with 8-142.
• Arnold kept Serpentine winless after recording a 34-run victory.
Having been invited to bat first Arnold compiled 6-177 that proved beyond the reach of Serpentine, which was all out for 143.
Serpentine’s chances suffered a blow when it fell from 2-60 to 6-73 mid-innings.

NORTHERN UNITED
COLBINABBIN lifted itself off the bottom of the Northern United ladder with its first win of the season.
The Ducks amassed 159 batting first against Calivil, which was dismissed for 107 in its chase.
In an innings where eight players were dismissed in single figures, Garner Smith played a lone hand for Calivil with a fighting 64.
• Elmore continued its unbeaten season, defeating Raywood by five wickets.
The Foxes were bowled out for 90 batting first and then had the Redbacks in early trouble at 3-26.
However, Elmore dug itself out of its precarious position to reach 5-96 and remain at the top of the ladder.
• Like Elmore, Dingee is also still unbeaten after knocking over reigning premier Heathcote by five wickets.
With Matthew Hind (5-9) starring with the ball, Dingee dismissed Heathcote for 79 and then answered with 5-81 in 30 overs.
• A week after it was forced to forfeit, Goornong returned to the field with a win over Bagshot.
Goornong’s decision to bowl first reaped dividends as Bagshot was bundled out for 64 in the 30th over having one stage been 6-20.
The Mountain Goats took 19.4 overs to reach 6-65 in their chase against a Bagshot line-up that had Jordan Hamilton snare 4-11.
