LUKE Monaghan is returning to club football as the new coaching development manager at Strathfieldsaye.
Monaghan previously spent six years as senior coach at Eaglehawk between 2011 and 2016 and will now share that experience at the Storm, who have been the Hawks’ BFNL grand final opponents for the past two seasons.
Coaching development is a passion for Monaghan that was evident in him helping to establish the new AFL Central Victoria Coaching Academy.
“We are extremely fortunate to have someone with Luke’s experience and credentials join the club in this new role,” Storm president Mick Farrell said.
“It’s something we have wanted to implement for some time, so to see it finally come to fruition is very pleasing.
“The role aims to provide genuine support and direction for enhancement in football coaching philosophies and strategies in a positive and co-operative environment where our coaches will continue to learn and be challenged.”
