Two tankers from Kyneton and Pastoria controlled the treefire in Pastoria East by 1.30pm.
Firefighters worked to ensure the tree did not fall onto Baynton Road.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council has been informed and will inspect the tree. CFA remains on scene.
In Wedderburn, a grass and scrub fire was reported to CFA at 1.10pm after a passer-by noticed smoke.
Two crews from Wedderburn and Korong Vale attended the scene and controlled the fire by 1.30pm. It is not known how the fire started.
“It was good to get these fires under control quickly with strong winds in the areas,” the CFA spokeswoman said.
UPDATE, 2.08pm: Powercor is reported power outages in several towns and areas around Bendigo.
About 350 customers in Maldon, Walmer, Shelbourne, Laniecoorie, Redesdale, Sutton Grange, Harcourt North, Lockwood South, Tarnagulla, Newbridge and Woodstock on Loddon are affected.
Faults in McGlashans Road, Lockwood South; Lewis Road, Walmer; Byrnes Road, Sutton Grange; and Chellews Road, Harcourt North, have been reported and are under investigation.
Power is expected to be restored by 4.30pm.
UPDATE, 1.52pm: A number of incidents on the Vic Emergency website are keeping emergency services busy.
As well as the Pastoria East fire, two units have responded to a fire at Wedderburn Junction while SES units responded to a tree branch falling on a car parked in a Maldon driveway and a tree partially blocking SImpsons Road in Havelock, near Maryborough. No one was reported injured.
An SES media spokesman said they are expecting storm conditions to hang around.
He advised people to secure loose items, drive to conditions and not approach fallen trees of power lines and to not park under trees.
A weather warning for damaging winds has been issued for the Central, Northern Country, North Central, North East and Wimmera areas with damaging wind gusts of 90km/h expected.
Winds are expected to average between 50km/h and 60km/h in nearby locations of Bendigo, Seymour, Maryborough and Ballarat.
The more than 50 members of the Marong SES unit are preparing for “storm season” in November.
Outgoing Marong SES controller Kevin Cahill said the crew had 170 call outs last year with many coming in November and December.
"We're coming up to what we call teh storm season, which is the end of November and the start of December when you can get a lot of rain and wind," he said.
"We could be looking at 10 to 15 jobs a day (in those conditions)."
EARLIER: LIGHTNING is believed to have sparked a tree fire east of Kyneton.
Firefighters were called to Baynton Road, Pastoria East, at 1.12pm today.

The first tanker was on the scene within two minutes of the call, according to a CFA spokesperson.
Firefighters from Kyneton and Pastoria East are responding with two tankers and a brigade unit.
The fire is not yet under control.
