Harcourt Progress Association secretary Jacqueline Brodie-Hanns said more visitors were coming up to the area for the Harcourt Mountain Bike Trails after it opened in March.
Yet they were often staying only for the day and not always spending money at the cafes, cideries, wineries and other businesses in the area.
Ms Brodie-Hanns hoped day visitors would stay into the evening – and that locals would have another event to invite family and friends into the area.
She said the twilight market would build on the 2013 Harcourt Community Plan, in which locals said they wanted more support for the region’s producers and more events to attract visitors.
Ms Brodie-Hanns herself is a local producer.
“We attend a monthly market in a tiny goldfields town. Every month we are amazed at the benefits which the market brings, attracting 1000’s of visitors,” she said.
“It’s great for our business but it’s also a really great thing for small country towns.”
Organisers hope to attract 1000 people to their first twilight market.
It will take place on Saturday 24 November from 4pm till 8pm in central James Park, High Street, Harcourt.
