The Spirit were convincingly outplayed in the first half and trailed 61-34 at the main break.
However, the Spirit produced a superb defensive effort in the second half, restricting the Lynx to just 16 points, but the damage had been done as Perth held on to win 77-72.
Louella Tomlinson (16), captain Nat Hurst (14) in her 250th WNBL game, Kara Tessari (11) and Nadeen Payne (10) all scored in double figures for the Spirit.
New import Barbara Turner had three points and four rebounds in 17 minutes in her first game for the club.
The Spirit are now 2-1 ahead of a clash against Adelaide in Adelaide on Sunday afternoon.
