That’s the message Highway Patrol have for all drivers this AFL grand final weekend.
‘Operation Scoreboard’ over the long weekend will see every Highway Patrol unit in central Victoria on the roads.
Speed, distraction, fatigue and drink and drug driving will be the focus of the operation.
Acting Senior Sergeant of Highway Patrol Brad Hall said police presence will be strong on the roads this weekend.
Drivers can expect patrols enforcing speed, and plenty of breath testing sites.
“Although they can have a good weekend, and enjoy the foot, scoreboard is designed to ensure the roads around the area remain safe,” Acting Senior Sergeant Hall said.
“We’re more than happy for people to have a good long weekend and enjoy the footy, but drive to conditions, drive safe, and if you’re going to have a few drinks, don’t drive.”
Train service on the Bendigo line will be running as normal over the long weekend.
