A WOMAN who escaped from Tarrengower Prison earlier this month and was later found by police in Footscray will not spend any additional time in jail.

Thi Nga Dang, 36, was sentenced in the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Monday after pleading guilty to one count of escaping from prison.
She was convicted and sentenced to 14 days jail, to be served concurrently with her existing sentence for trafficking a drug of dependence meaning she will serve no additional time in jail for the escape.
Dang escaped the minimum security prison near Maldon on September 10. She was reported as walking away from the facility carrying a high-visibility vest.
She was arrested after being spotted by an off-duty police officer in Footscray the following day.
