In division one, championship winner Eaglehawk hosts Shepparton United with the winner to advance to the grand final and the loser to host next week’s preliminary final.
While Eaglehawk finished above Shepparton United on the division one ladder, the Hawks haven’t beaten United this season.
The round one clash at Truscott Reserve finished in a 2-2 draw, while in round 12 Shepparton United scored a 2-0 victory at home.
Since that game the Hawks have added Alex Caldow to their squad after the attacking midfielder quit Epsom late in the season.
United enters the game on the back of six-straight wins. Eaglehawk and Shepparton United have the stingiest defences in the competition, so it might only take one goal to win the game or it could go the distance to a penalty shootout.
Third-placed Shepparton South hosts fourth-placed Strathdale in Sunday’s elimination semi-final.
Shepparton South will start a warm favourite on its home deck at McEwen Reserve.
South has only lost one of its past nine matches which was a 1-0 defeat to Eaglehawk.
The Blues’ best form is clearly good enough, but they have been inconsistent in the latter stages of the season.
Shepparton United should win the women’s second semi-final.
United only dropped one match through the home and away season.
Strathdale and Colts play in the women’s first semi-final just two weeks after the Blues thumped Colts 4-1 in the final home and away round.
The semi-final brings together the two top players in the women’s league best and fairest award – Strathdale’s Ellie Vlaeminck and Colts’ Rebecca Berry.
