Watts was sentenced to three months jail, wholly suspended for two years, after entering the plea at Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.
Watts, who spent most of his 52-game NRL career at North Queensland but also spent time with Cronulla and the Sydney Roosters, kneed and kicked a bridesmaid's husband at the August 2016 wedding on the Gold Coast.
As well as the suspended prison sentence, Watts was ordered to pay $5000 in compensation.
