STAR forward Brady Herdman is making a comeback with North Bendigo in the Heathcote District league next season.
Herdman – who has won eight senior flags with the Bulldogs, Eaglehawk and Wedderburn during his stellar career – had a season out of the game this year.
However, the Bulldogs have announced Herdman will be back at Atkins Street next season.
“It’s fantastic Brady is coming back. He’s a quality bloke, sensational footballer and his record speaks for itself,” North Bendigo coach Matt Dillon said on Wednesday.
“Everyone is rapt to get him on board in a spot we really need to fill.”
Herdman has long been renowned as one of the premier tall forwards in the region and between 2005 and 2017 kicked a total of 660 goals in stints at Eaglehawk (212), Wedderburn (229) and North Bendigo (219).
For the second year in a row the Bulldogs were beaten by Leitchville-Gunbower in the grand final earlier this month, going down by nine points.
“He was watching us grand final day, he’s a competitive beast and has got itchy feet again,” Dillon said.
“He still has a bit of footy left in him and we’re super excited to have him back.”
As well as Herdman returning in 2019, North Bendigo has also announced the re-signing of five fellow premiership players in Tyson Findlay, captain Jarrod Findlay, former skipper Jordan Ford, Aarryn Craig and Ryan Alford.
