Kindergarten teacher Kelly Walsh said reading and literature was embedded within the culture of the kindergarten.
“From reading stories together, to acting them out, to writing them… they’re the types of things we do on a daily basis,” Miss Walsh said.
“The kindergarten children also dressed up as their favourite story book characters and participated in a parade.
“The children spent time together, playing games, acting our stories, climbing, digging and talking
“Respectful relationships have been built between the different age groups throughout the year and are a delightful link to our community.”
The Grade 5 students meet regularly with the children as part of a buddy program between the kindergarten and school.
