A man arrested in a busy supermarket car park in Eaglehawk on Thursday in alleged possession of a firearm, drugs and cash will appear in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Police have charged a man, in his 50s, with a number of alleged offences, including trafficking methamphetamine, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and other weapon and driving offences.
Senior Constable Brendan Rooney said the man allegedly had a quantity of cash and a trafficable amount of methamphetamine in his possession, in addition to the alleged firearm.
Senior Constable Rooney said the man had been wanted for alleged firearms offences.
Intrigued shoppers looked on as crime scene services and plain clothes police searched the man’s car about 2pm.
The man was taken to Bendigo police station, charged and remanded in custody.
