THE Bendigo Dockers have capped a dominant season in the northern conference of the Victorian FIDA Football League by winning the premiership.
The Dockers defeated the Wodonga Jets 1.5 (11) to 1.1 (7) in last Sunday’s grand final played in cold conditions at Wangaratta’s Norm Minns Oval.
The Dockers played 19 games throughout the season, winning 17 and drawing two.
The team was co-coached by Daniel Reid and Daniel Rees and was one of five sides in the competition, along with Wodonga, Wangaratta, Echuca-Moama and the GV Stars.
The FIDA competition aims to provide Victorians with an intellectual disability the opportunity to participate in Australian Rules at a competitive level.
Each team hosted a carnival round of matches during the season.
