Castlemaine’s Shedshaker wants visitors to help unwrap the delectable treats to help make a one-off chocolatey, caramel brew as celebrations for International Beer Day takes place in bars, breweries and backyards all over the world.
The Fantale ale is being brewed ahead of the Bendigo on the Hop festival later this month, when it will go on tap at GPO Bendigo.
On Friday, the brewery will offer demonstrations and “tutored tastings” of its products, director Jacqueline Brodie-Hanns said.
“We will be running through all the brews on tap and what it takes to make them. Our brewers will talk through the various characteristics of the beers,” she said.
“It’s really educational drinking.”
The evening will wrap up with live music and pizza.
The event takes place from noon until 10pm at 9 Walker Street, Castlemaine.
