Rochester 16-year-old Nathan Kay will make his TAC Cup debut for the Pioneers against Sandringham on Sunday.
St Arnaud 16-year-old Jack Tillig has already been given a taste of TAC Cup footy, while Vic Country under-16 co-captain Sam Conforti will be given his chance in the next few weeks as well.
“We see this as a great opportunity to develop some of our younger players,’’ Pioneers coach Rick Coburn said.
“Giving them a chance to play at this level now is going to help their development for next year.”
The Pioneers played some good patches of football against top team Dandenong last week and Coburn is hoping his side can produce that level for longer periods against the Dragons.
“Bringing that good level of footy for longer is the goal for the next few weeks,’’ Coburn said.
