The 2018 Bendigo Bank Fun Run will include “colour stations”, allowing participants to be covered in colour as they embark on their run.
The funds raised will go towards Bendigo Health’s Residential Care Appeal.
Bendigo Health acting CEO Liz Hamilton said it was an additional fun element for the event.
“It is a great event and really engages with the community, it offers options to people of all different fitness levels to participate,” Ms Hamilton said.
Ms Hamilton is an avid marathon runner and will be participating in the fun run herself.
Participants can take it easy with the 5km walk or challenge themselves with the 5km, 10km, 15km or half marathon run, and additionally the relay team challenge.
Bendigo Health events coordinator Jacinta Mangan said the fun run would follow the CBD course, leaving from Pall Mall and then along View Street.
“The Bendigo Fun Run is now in its 12th year and has cemented itself as a major event for Bendigo and one of the biggest mass participation events in the region,” Ms Mangan said.
The 2018 Bendigo Bank Fun Run will be held on Sunday November 4, with early bird registrations for the event now open until September 23.
