One of Bendigo’s open-air art spaces is set for a face lift, with artists sought to create new artworks.
Successful artists will have their works displayed in Pennyweight Walk, between Bath Lane and Hargreaves Street, for two years.
The City of Greater Bendigo has partnered with local group Nacho Station Collective to commission the new artworks, as well as host workshops with selected artists.
“The program aims to engage established, mid-career and emerging artists,” City of Greater Bendigo creative communities co-ordinator Maree Tonkin said.
The new artworks will be on display in Pennyweight Walk by the end of November.
“We’re already seeing lots of interest from the creative community, it’s great to have a few artists submit their interest already,” Nacho Station Collective’s Reece Hendy said.
Artists can submit their interest with a few examples of past work online at www.nacho-station.com/pennyweight. Submissions close next Friday, July 27.
