Campaspe mayor Adrian Weston said the program offers financial assistance to support services, programs and events delivered by community groups, clubs and associations in Campaspe Shire.
He said it was great to see so many community groups right across our shire share details on projects to improve their services.
Round two of the Community Grants Program opens August 1 with online applications being introduced.
Grants were presented in two categories – community support and events.
In the community support category, $64,197 was allocated to 22 groups:
- $1300 – Rushworth Public Cemetery Trust, repair and restoration of Sexton’s Hut
- $4000 – Girgarre Football Netball Club Inc, kitchen refurbishment
- $1466 – Echuca Historical Society Inc, equipment purchases
- $3000 – Gunbower Memorial Hall Committee, new split system for the main hall
- $1500 – Echuca Moama Men’s Shed Inc, purchase of printer and scanner
- $2499 – Rich River Quilters & Friends Inc, purchase of a Janome long arm sewing machine
- $1000 – Girgarre Primary School, centenary history book
- $3000 – Colbinabbin Boomerang Bags (Colbinabbin Football Netball Club Inc), set up Boomerang Bags
- $2400 – Rushworth Community House Inc, Rushworth mobile IT support
- $4000 – Echuca Poultry Club Inc, renovations
- $4000 – Lockington & District Bush Nursing Centre Inc, sustainable power
- $2649 – Echuca Moama Photography Club Inc, equipment purchase
- $2500 – Winter Blues Festival Inc, festival activities and workshops
- $4000 – Toolleen Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, universal access ramp
- $4000 – Kyabram & District Historical Society Inc, digitisation imaging of Kyabram Free Press newspapers
- $3837 – Echuca East Primary School, Victorian State School Spectacular
- $4000 – Inland Outrigger Canoe Club Inc, refurbishment of a six seater outrigger canoe
- $4000 – Vivid (formerly Murray Human Services Inc), installation of a shade sail
- $3942 – Crossenvale Community House Inc, Mow me out of here and building stronger partnerships
- $2104 – Echuca Moama Arts Initiative Inc, marketing plan for the Echuca Moama arts prize ‘Nature Speaks’
- $1000 – Community Living & Respite Services Inc, soothing sounds
- $4000 – Lockington District Business Centre Inc, Lockington Playgroup outdoor play space
In the events category, $29,050 was allocated to 18 groups:
- $5000 – Echuca Basketball Association Inc, Echuca basketball junior tournament
- $2500 – Echuca Racing Club Inc, Echuca Racing Club Melbourne Cup Day
- $2500 – Kyabram Parkland Golf Club Inc, men’s, ladies and junior Victorian Amateur Par 3 Championships
- $3000 – Epicentre Church Inc, the Christmas Spectacular
- $3000 – Kyabram RV Country Music Festival (Kyabram Development Committee Inc), Kyabram RV Country Music Festival
- $1050 – Kyabram Amateur Swimming Club Inc, Kyabram Swimming Club 2018 long distance/long course meet
- $3000 – Girgarre Development Group Inc, Girgarre Moosic Muster
