United scored an impressive 3-1 win over Epsom on Sunday to consolidate second place on the ladder.
The result kept Colts five points behind championship leader Shepparton United, eight points clear of Strathdale and nine points ahead of Epsom.
A goal in the first minute of the game from Eva Jan set the tone for United.
She doubled United’s lead in the 34th minute before Caitlin Green found the back of the net for Epsom in the 35th minute.
However, one minute later United’s Holly Hays capped an action-packed three minutes when she scored her first goal of the season to give her side a match-winning two-goal buffer.
Eaglehawk continued its slide when it fell 5-2 to Swan Hill.
Carnie Edlin and Rosie Neylon gave the Borough a 2-1 lead at half-time, but Swan Hill dominated the second-half.
The home team scored four times after the break and celebrated one of their best performances in recent seasons. Shannon Fox scored a hat-trick for Swan Hill.
Strathdale star Ellie Vlaeminck scored a hat-trick in the Blues’ 5-1 win over Spring Gully.
Brigid McNamara and Lucy Teale also scored for Strathdale. Rena Nichol was the sole scorer for the Reds.
