Programs and events are an essential part of the service the gallery provides to the community, affording a variety of ways for individuals to engage with the visual arts.
Saturday July 14, 1-4pm
Drop in and draw!: Bendigo Artists Inc with the support of Bendigo Art Gallery is again offering a clothed figure drawing session at the gallery. Adults and children are invited to drop in and draw any time between 1 and 4pm.
Several artists will be on hand to guide and encourage those who take part. Dry media only, no charcoal or pastel. RSVP preferred. Free.

Art & Tea, La Trobe Arts Institute, 121 View St, 10am Morning tea, 10:30am Guest speaker event: From women’s rights and marriage equality to climate change, Michelle Stevenson, Senior Curator of Politics and Society at Museums Victoria, will discuss some of the ways this is occurring in museums today.
Presented by the Friends of Bendigo Art Gallery. Hearing loop available. No bookings required, limited numbers. Free.

Curator’s Talk: Bankrolling Bendigo, Post Office Gallery, Pall Mall: Join exhibition curator Emma Busowsky Cox for an introduction to Bankrolling Bendigo: building a city.

Lecture: Collecting Gold, La Trobe Arts Institute, 121 View St: Join Dermot Henry, Deputy Director, Sciences at Museums Victoria for some fascinating insights into significant gold nugget finds in Victoria, and the process of recording them.
Free, bookings preferred.
Friday July 27, 9.30am
Stroller Tour: Enjoy a private gallery tour on wheels prior to opening hours especially for parents/carers with babies. In this session a Gallery Educator will select a group of artworks for a lively discussion around the meaning and making of art and the lives of artists.
The tour will end in the Gallery Café. $6 includes a tea/coffee. Bookings essential.
