Saturday marked the first day of two weeks of dance competition.
The youngest performers in the competition – those in the under-6s and under-8s categories – kicked off the eisteddfod on the opening weekend.
As the event progresses, dancers in the open-age categories will take to the stage.
Dancers will perform everything from tap, jazz and classical ballet, to contemporary, musical comedy and hip hop routines.
The eisteddfod has now been held for 93 years.
The competition will wrap up on July 14.
