Kangaroo Flat will have a new senior coach in 2019.
After a poor first half of 2018, the Roos have advertised all senior coaching positions for the 2019 season.
Current co-coaches Shawn Filo and Corey Greer will remain in charge for the rest of 2018.
“I commend both Shawn and Corey on their professionalism and conduct during what has been a very difficult start to the season, they have both worked really hard to keep the guys up and about while still developing a very young team,” Kangaroo Flat FNC president Scott Mitchell said in a statement.
“We are not laying all of the blame of our on field performance at Shawn and Corey, we haven’t been able to attract key recruits and have had a run of injuries, making it hard to settle the team.”
The Roos have won just two games this season and have the second worst percentage in the competition.
“While I am disappointed with the decision, I understand where the club is coming from,” Filo said.
“They (the club) have been very open about the whole process and I appreciate that.”
Mitchell said Greer had indicated he was keen to play on at the Roos next year, while Filo was weighing up his options.
With the Roos having a talented crop of under-18 and under-16 players coming through the ranks, Mitchell said the club was keen to find a senior coach who could demonstrate leadership, management and technical skills in developing young players.

Meanwhile, the Roos face another tough task on Saturday when they travel down the Calder to play Kyneton.
The Tigers thumped the Roos by 86 points in round two.
The Roos have rewarded one of their up-and-coming under-18 players, with Darcy Poulter to make his senior debut.
The third-placed Tigers have Golden Square breathing down their neck for a top-three berth and can’t afford a sub-par performance.
The Tigers should have too much class and depth for the young Roos.
Kyneton small forward Ethan Foreman bagged eight goals against the Roos in round two and is coming off an eight-goal haul against South Bendigo last Saturday.
