Police allege the assault occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Detective Senior Constable Debbie Graham said a 48-year-old man was charged with intentionally causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury and assault with a weapon.
“He will face court on Wednesday,” she said.
The alleged assault left a 38-year-old man with serious, non-life threatening injuries to his head and body.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed paramedics were called to an address in Long Gully just aft 6am on Sunday.
A spokesman said a male in his 30s who had serious injuries to his head and arm, was transferred to Bendigo hospital in a stable condition.
