Two calves were seized by police this month as part of an ongoing investigation into stolen livestock.
Police were told the animals were stolen from a property somewhere between Shepparton and Heathcote overnight on Thursday, June 7.
“The calves are kindly being cared for until we can reunite them with their owners and we are keen to achieve this as quickly as we can”, a police spokesperson said.
Investigators have released images of the sky-blue ear marking tags worn by the calves, in the hope that their owner will recognise them
A 16-year-old Werneth man has been charged with theft and will appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on August 13.
