The works were performed by the Bendigo Chorale in Russian on Saturday.
They included the Russian composer’s Spring (Vesna) Op.20 cantata, which was performed by Melbourne-based baritone Raphael Wong, the choir’s Diana Smith said.
“We have a Russian musical director (Elena Varshavskaya) and she is very keen for us to do different sorts of music. For this performance she decided we should do a fully Russian program,” she said.
“We have done other languages in the past, Elena likes to really stretch us.”
The choir celebrated its 60th year last November and has become one of the longest running musical groups in Bendigo.
