When a student’s dad was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, students and staff at Bendigo South East College rallied round to raise funds for research.
Seven South East College staff participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to further the fundraising effort.
The twist was, they didn’t know who was getting drenched by the the big bucket.
Students voted with their cash, donating $2 for whichever staff member they wanted to see soaked.
The fundraising is being driven by the student’s school house, Fortuna. With the sale of sausages and beanies, the school has now raised over $2,000.
“As a house Fortuna has rallied behind him, and we got in touch with the Niel Daniher Fight MND foundatoin, and they gave us some beanies to sell to put towards it,” said David Trew, Learning Coach for Fortuna House,
“We just wanted to focus on fundraising as much as we could.”
Free dress and a sausage sizzle also contributed to the fundraising effort.
