A SOLID shooting effort from Bendigo’s Caitlin Thwaites has failed to prevent Collingwood Magpies from slumping to their fourth loss in five games in Suncorp Super Netball.

Thwaites nailed 39 of 44 attempts as the Magpies fell 65-54 to her former side NSW Swifts in Sydney on Saturday.
At the other end of the court, Sam Wallace (43 from 48) and Helen Housby (21 from 23) clicked to ensure the sixth-placed Swifts their third win of the season.
The Magpies are in sixth place, above only Adelaide Thunderbirds, ahead of a clash in Tasmania against Queensland Firebirds.
Under the new scoring rules, the magpies earned two points for outscoring the Swifts in each of the first and last quarters,
Meanwhile, Bendigo’s Chloe Watson missed Melbourne Vixens’ 58-51 loss to Giants Netball as she continues to work through a knee injury.
The fourth-placed Vixens play Sunshine Coast Lightning this weekend.
