Round three in the BAC season was the Kel Pell 6500m handicap at Notley Reserve in which Sait reigned supreme in a field of 29 athletes on Sunday.
Sait raced from the 9.50 mark and worked hard to catch the 10 runners in front of him.
The eventual race winner used the hills to his advantage to pass the frontmarkers and then duel with Carol Stewart for overall honours in the Bridge Hotel-sponsored event.
At the end of 6.5 kilometres, Sait was in front of Stewart as Dan Ryan ran strongly to be third.
A long-time competitor with the club, Sait’s record includes winning the 1987 club aggregate award and the prestigious Eaglehawk to Bendigo in 2010.
Fastest time honours in the Kel Pell event went to Jacob Nolan in 22:37 as newcomer Anna Krainz was fastest female in 27:32.
A field of 12 contested the juniors 1km race.
Abbey Cutler emulated the feat of her sister, Emelia, to win this round from Edward Boase and Jack Gaskin.
Fastest time was Edward Boase in 4:33.
Next Sunday’s race in the BAC season is an 8km event at the Woodvale Recreation Reserve from 10.30am.
