Like the Hawks, the Bulldogs had also gone into the match with three wins in a row to open the season, but it was Eaglehawk that kicked away late to win 9.16 (70) to 8.3 (51) in a scrap of a contest at Wade Street.
The Hawks kicked the final four goals of the match after trailing by nine points during the last quarter.

Saturday’s other marquee match-up of round four was also decided by 19 points as Strathfieldsaye outlasted Sandhurst at Tannery Lane.
The Storm booted four of the final five goals to win 14.13 (97) to 12.6 (78).
Star Storm forward Lachlan Sharp bagged six goals in his return from a hamstring injury.
At Dower Park, Kangaroo Flat notched its first win of the season at the expense of Maryborough.
The Roos led at every change in winning 12.12 (84) to 10.2 (62), with four of their key players in Liam Collins, Jonathan Lanyon, co-coach Corey Greer and Nick Lang leading the charge to victory.
Kyneton slammed on eight goals in the third quarter to break away from Gisborne and set up a 27-point win over its arch-rivals at Gardiner Reserve, 17.6 (108) to 12.9 (81).

And an inaccurate South Bendigo moved into the top five following its 61-point victory over Castlemaine.
The Bloods won 11.21 (87) to 3.8 (26) at the QEO.
