Bendigo Athletics general manager Craig Green said the equipment was integral to the complex.
“It’s disappointing that people can break into a premises and steal things which are bought with money raised by the competitors and used by the volunteers,” Mr Green said.
“We have over 900 people involved in athletics in Bendigo and when something like this happens, it’s very annoying for all of us.
“Unfortunately some people in our community do not understand how hard our volunteers work and the inconvenience this type of crime causes.”
The mower is used to cart stacks of hurdles around the complex and the water pump is used for the steeplechase.
Mr Green said both of the items had been insured.
“However, that’s not the point,” Mr Green said.
“Someone has come in and stolen something they shouldn't have.”
“There’s the effort of dealing with police and the insurance companies which will take up a lot of time.”
